Elegance meets passion

Seeing the Maserati GranTurismo Sport in the flesh will get your heart racing. Thanks to its balanced and seductive form, the GranTurismo shape has been universally acclaimed as one of the most stylish coupes of all time. The Maserati Style Center has taken the original concept and refined many design details to produce an even more elegant and sporting version; the GranTurismo Sport will delight enthusiasts from every point of view.

Exterior

The most recognized GT car design, an expression of elegance and passion

An aggressive and aerodynamic front end

The front end of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is an attention-grabber. On either side of the distinctive Maserati oval radiator grill are two large, innovative air intakes that not only improve airflow and the cooling of the front brakes, but also act as a stylistic junction between the central grill and the new headlight assemblies. There is also a new aerodynamic splitter in the center, below the grill.

Pronounced sideskirts convey airflow toward the rear

The Maserati GranTurismo Sport features pronounced sideskirts, standard in body color and available in black on request. These aerodynamic features emphasize the exceptionally dynamic lines while also playing an important role in airflow management which is the outcome of a specific wind-tunnel design project, where they have the crucial task of conveying the flow of air to the rear wheels in the most efficient manner possible: an example of form serving function.

The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport is designed with elegant and effective lower rocker panels—sideskirts—that feature a more pronounced shape to emphasize its dynamic profile. As well as their stylistic role, these additions (available in black) play an important role in aerodynamic efficiency. Combined with the sinuous shape of the fenders, they ensure optimal airflow toward the rear wheels, an example of form serving function.

The GranTurismo Sport’s silhouette starts from the famous Maserati oval radiator grill: it couldn’t be any other way, as essential as the large Trident logo with red trims suspended in the center of the grill’s black vertical fillets.

Distinguished, thanks to Shadow Line trim

At the rear of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, a number of details make the car instantly recognizable. Immediately apparent are the taillights, with a special burnished finish that accentuates the effect of the 96 LEDs that provide illumination. Below, the oval exhaust tips of the tailpipes are black, complementing the standard Shadow Line trim. The Chrome Line option, with its wealth of elegant chrome-plated finishes, is available on request.

Blue becomes Sofisticato

The design lines and rhythmic movement of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport are enhanced by the metallescent Blu Sofisticato finish, a color made available especially for this model and which makes the bodywork even more alluring. Filling the wheel wells are large, 20-inch Astro Design rims, whose design highlights large Brembo brake calipers, also available in an original Blu Opaco Anodizzato (anodized matte blue) finish that reflects the car’s sophisticated style.

Interior

Sophisticated luxury and comfort combined with state-of-the-art ergonomics

An interior that is comfortable, luxurious and sporty: these convey the Maserati GranTurismo Sport. The interior is appointed in exquisite materials, executed with expert craftsmanship and with Maserati’s unyielding attention to detail. The result is a grand touring automobile made for drivers that appreciate comfort and room for four in a sporting coupe of unmatched luxury.

Fine Italian leather combines with soft Alcantara® in many areas of the interior

The sporting temperament of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is emphasized by a stylish combination of Alcantara® and traditional Italian Premium leather in many areas of the interior, along with anthracite-grey Dark Chrome trim or EcoChrome trim—a shade that recalls the gleam of molten metal—on the dashboard, interior door panels and quarter panels.

Supportive, contoured seats

On the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, the redesigned front seats with integrated headrest offer maximum comfort and support during spirited driving. The distinctive sport design features a bezel beneath the headrest, while in combination with the leather, the central part of the seat and seat back can be upholstered in perforated Alcantara® (standard on the version with MC Shift electro-actuated gearbox).

Trofeo Design steering wheel

When you place your hands on the redesigned steering wheel of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, you will appreciate the contoured rim, longer Trofeo Design gearshift paddles and the new grip with a distinctive profile. All these features provide maximum comfort and are tailored to the needs of a sporty driving style. The steering wheel is offered in three different finishes: all leather, leather and Alcantara, or leather and carbon fiber.

Rpm counter takes center stage

The instrument panel is highly legible in all lighting conditions and an rpm counter with digital readout clearly displays exactly the right time for gear shifts. Another important feature for sport-oriented drivers is the lightweight pedal board in perforated aluminium.

Technology

Innovative solutions broaden the horizons of sports driving

Taking the Maserati GranTurismo Sport on the open road will broaden your horizons when it comes to sports driving. The car is the result of significant research and development by the Maserati engineers in the design of engine, gearbox and suspension. The GranTurismo Sport is the result of a single design objective: give the Maserati owner a car even closer to perfection, from every point of view.

The V8 continues a tradition of groundbreaking excellence in engine design

Mechanics ahead of their time

The 4.7-liter V8 engine of the GranTurismo Sport is remarkable for its smooth running, impressive performance and proven reliability. It is an engine that demonstrates the mechanical sophistication that has always been a Maserati hallmark, united with a number of engineering solutions such as the special DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) finish used for the tappets and camshaft lobes, an innovation that significantly reduces friction.

The driver sets the output level

The V8 engine of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport develops 454 HP at 7,000 rpm, and changes its personality to match the situation. Its subdued but authoritative note while driving in an urban setting crescendos to a thrilling roar when power is applied on the open road. The choice is in the driver’s hands: output level can be enhanced by pressing the Sport button, which actuates valves in the exhaust system that allows easier breathing of the engine. Most of the 384 lb-ft of torque is available over a wide range of engine speeds, for smooth and instant power delivery on demand.

ZF AUTOMATIC GEARBOX CONTROLLED BY THE EXCLUSIVE MC AUTO SHIFT SOFTWARE

The ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter guarantees smooth, rapid shifts and a comfortable ride, with no reduction in performance from a manual transmission. The automatic transmission of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is controlled by the MC Auto Shift software, with rev limiter override, double declutch and high-performance start function. There are five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E.

Optimal balance and weight distribution

On the GranTurismo Sport, the MC Auto Shift automatic transmission is positioned immediately behind the engine. This attached layout, and the fact that the engine is positioned behind the front axle, provides extremely well-balanced weight distribution, with 49% at the front and 51% at the rear. This optimizes handling, making the car more predictable and easy to drive, while maximizing traction during acceleration.

Suspension features the Sport Skyhook electronic control system

The double wishbone suspension of the GranTurismo Sport features a new setup controlled by the Sport Skyhook System, which has been specially developed for this version. Pressing the dashboard Sport button improves handling and makes the car’s suspension even more precise and responsive without affecting its ability to deal with rough road surfaces, since it continuously adapts to ground conditions.

Craftsmanship

A car crafted to reflect your personality

Known for their extremely high-performance and impeccable finish, Maserati automobiles continue a tradition established by the house of the Trident long ago. Maserati knows that every customer has personal tastes and preferences that can be reflected in a vast number of details when specifying their Maserati GranTurismo Sport. From the bodywork colors, to the shades and combinations of leather upholstery, stitching and the large assortment of trim, each GranTurismo Sport is capable of expressing the individuality of its owner.

The Alcantara® package brings a special luxury to large areas of the interior

The optional Alcantara® package is a fine match for the car’s extremely dynamic look: it allows various areas of the interior (instrumentation brow, central armrest, door panel/handle armrest, center of dashboard and central tunnel) to be finished in a material that is lighter than leather and both luxurious and sporty at the same time.

The MC Sport Line personalization packages: stylish, functional carbon

The MC Sport Line personalization packages specifically developed for the Maserati GranTurismo Sport offer a combination of features designed to give the car a truly sporty, dynamic air. There are two exterior packages that include stylish, functional carbon fiber together with additional individual contents. In the car’s interior, there are three different levels of carbon fiber use.

A SELECTION OF CHROME-PLATED TRIM ENHANCE AN ELEGANT BODY

As an alternative to the standard Shadow Line version where black enhances the sporty design, the Maserati GranTursmo Sport is optionally available with the Chrome Line version. This package offers the elegance of chrome-plated trim on the radiator grille fillets, the three air vents behind the front wheels, the door handles, tailpipes and side-window trims, together with a matte grey finish for the front headlight assemblies.

THE SUSPENSION WITH THE CUSTOM “HANDLING PACKAGE”

On a car like the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, even the suspension setup can be customized for enhanced performance. The Handling Package replaces the standard electronically controlled suspension with a suspension system utilizing a single rigid setup lowered by 10 mm, red springs and shock absorbers and a larger anti-roll bar. The electronic MSP system is also remapped for high-performance handling.

*Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles, can cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more like to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road. Be careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped with low-profile tires.
