The GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition: when past and future meet

To mark its glorious first centenary, Maserati has produced a car like no other: a masterpiece whose every last detail expresses the legend that is the Marque of the Trident. The GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition is unrivalled in its power, performance and craftsmanship. This is Maserati passion and innovation at its best, sporting all the stunning lines that have made the brand an international design icon since it first sped onto the scene in 1914.

Exterior

Reimagining the classic GranTurismo

Elegant and urbanite with an aggressive sporty edge, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition is a bold tribute to one hundred years of Maserati. The illustrious past of the House of the Trident is clearly present in the genetics of the model, yet this GranTurismo also paves the way for future generations.

Still waters run deep

Despite its traditional GranTurismo silhouette, this centennial edition stands apart from its forbears. The new Rosso Magma color was designed to achieve the appearance of motion, even when the car is stationary. Applied in three coats, the shade varies subtly depending on the light to reveal deep undertones of purple and blue: perfection at 0km/h. The alternative launch shade, Blu Inchiostro, represents a stunning visual reference to both Maserati’s home city of Bologna and its iconic oval emblem. Five further paintwork colors are also available, ensuring a truly personalised experience for every driver.

An eye for detail

The centennial edition’s stunning selection of eye-catching exterior finishes is the perfect complement to the spirit of the model. The pearlescent red of the paintwork is partnered with an accent of color on the large callipers of the carbon ceramic brakes, visible behind the spokes of the MC Design wheels. This shade is offset by sleek black carbon fibre detailing on the rear spoiler, door handles and door mirror casings. Lastly, the unique Maserati Centennial logo proudly emblazoned on the hubcaps pays one last homage to one hundred years of innovative design.

Interior

Beauty on the inside as you’ve never seen it before

The interior of the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition rivals the exterior’s statement aesthetic. Visually striking accent panels on the headrests, armrests and steering wheel create a look that is as powerful as it is elegant. The sporty appearance of the interior is enhanced by carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard and seat surrounds, while the celebratory Maserati Centennial logo takes pride of place on the kick plate.

Black is the new black

Black is the colour of choice inside the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition, reflecting the classic design of the racing cars of yesteryear. The edition’s Italian Premium leather upholstery receives an extra touch of luxury from the unusual white double stitching that defines the profiles of the seats and the central tunnel panel. This Maserati design also captivates with its use of texture, pairing the finest leather with the same black carbon fibre that graces the exterior. Three exquisite alternative interiors are available, depending on the chosen paintwork shade.

Discover the ultimate driving experience

Comfort has not paid the price for this model’s beauty. Intuitive displays allow for complete control over the interior ambience, optimising the drive experience for all involved. The automatic dual-zone climate control adjusts the ventilation level to the outdoor temperature and allows those on board to select diversified heat settings. Meanwhile the optional Bose Surround Sound® audio system offers a sound quality comparable to the best concert halls.

Technology

The GranTurismo: a sportsman at heart

The GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition is powered by the 454 HP, 4.7 litre V8 that first appeared in the GranTurismo Sport, combined with a robotised, 6-speed MC Race Shift gearbox that guarantees superb performance and a top speed of 303 km/h. This highly innovative engine is designed to adapt to the driving environment, emitting a discreet purr in an urban setting and powerful roar on the open road.

Harnessing the power of a V8

Hydraulic transmission makes full use of the engine’s power: the auto-adaptive automatic gearbox delivers top performance at low and medium engine speeds without restricting power at high rpm. It also allows gear shifts to be postponed to up to 7.100 rpm, higher revs than almost any other automatic transmission in the world. The model offers three operating modes for responsive sports handling: Normal Automatic, Sport Manual and Race Manual.

Advanced technology in every detail

For one hundred years, Maserati has prided itself on its innate ability to push the boundaries of automotive engineering. Drivers of this centennial model will enjoy an optimised weight distribution and innovations such as the Brembo braking system and Maserati Stability Programme. The latter is an advanced electronic system which, in the event of skidding, reduces torque and triggers the brakes to stabilise the car almost instantly.

Craftsmanship

Crafting a century of success

In 1914 Maserati was founded on the principles of craftsmanship and attention to detail, and these are still the predominant values one hundred years on. From the selection of the very best materials to the tailor-made interior, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition bears witness to the signature savoir-faire of the House of the Trident.

A bespoke interior, painstakingly delivered

The headrests of this exclusive edition display an embroidered Trident as a visual reference to the iconic logo. Eye-catching features also include contrasting stitching on the dashboard and central tunnel, along with the Maserati Centennial logo that takes pride of place on the kick plate. Even the carpets have not been overlooked: their new coloured borders reflect the accent colors used elsewhere in the interior.

Making an impression in the House colors

As well as Rosso Magma, three more triple-coat colors have been created to celebrate Maserati’s centenary, each one matched to specific interiors: Blu Inchiostro, Grigio Pietra (with mica providing an interesting metallic effect) and Bianco Birdcage. Nero Carbonio, Bianco Eldorado and Grigio Granito then complete the choice of colors.
